After kicking off the 2012 BET Awards Sunday night, Kanye West and Pusha T dropped their new single ‘New God Flow,’ which features Yeezy’s verse that he rapped a cappella at the awards show. The song is expected to appear on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, ‘Cruel Summer’ (due Aug. 7).

‘New God Flow’ boasts West’s most quotable rhyme of the year: “I ain’t tryin’ to stunt man, but these Yeezy’s jumped over the Jumpman.” This is West’s claim that his Nike Air Yeezy II kicks have outsold the sneaker giant’s most popular Air Jordan sneaker (we haven’t seen the numbers, but this could be true).

There is plenty to talk about with this certified street banger. The song samples the classic breakbeat from Melvin Bliss’ 1973 song ‘Synthetic Substitution‘ and the vocal sample from Ghostface Killah’s ‘Mighty Healthy,’ which also samples Bliss’ drum beat.

West and Pusha T’s rapping on the track is ferocious and full of vigor. Pusha spits two full verses of spiritual and coked-out rhymes. “I believe there is a god above me / I’m just the god of everything else / I put holes in everything else / “New God Flow,” f— everything else,” he raps. He later adds, “Supreme dope dealer, write it in bold letters / They love a n—a’s spirit like Pac at the Coachella.” Eghck!

Meanwhile, West comes through with a climatic third verse, the same one he recited at the 2012 BET Awards. “I’m living three dreams: Biggie Smalls’, Dr. King’s, Rodney King’s / Cause we can’t get along, no resolution / Till we drown all these haters, rest in peace to Whitney Houston,” he spits.

With their luxury anthem ‘Mercy’ reaching the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Songs chart, it looks like the G.O.O.D. Music team is bringing the real heat this summer.
