Many of us grew up watching Dick Faurot on local television and it is good to see him back on TV.

Our media partners at KATC-TV 3 ran across the former local meteorologist while they were in Southwest Louisiana covering storm damage. Faurot, who now lives in Oklahoma, volunteers for Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief and he travels the country helping people after storms.

As you will see in the video below, South Louisiana still has a very special place in his heart. While talking about being down here to be part of the recovery process, the former KLFY-TV 10 meteorologist gets choked up.

While Dick Faurot may no longer be forecasting weather in Acadiana, his heart and love for the area are evident in his efforts to clean up parts of the state he once called home.

Rob Perillo, Chief Meteorologist at KATC-TV 3, worked with Dick Faurot at KLFY-TV in the early part of his career.
