Tributes Pour In For Beloved Leonville Teacher Katelyn LeBlanc
Tributes continue to pour in for Katelyn LeBlanc, a beloved Leonville Elementary School teacher whose family, colleagues and community say touched countless lives through her kindness, faith and dedication to children.
LeBlanc died Sunday following a crash on Interstate 49 near the Sunset and Grand Coteau exit in St. Landry Parish, according to KLFY. She was airlifted to a hospital following the crash, where she later died.
But in the hours since news of her death began spreading, those who knew LeBlanc have made it clear that her life will be remembered for much more than the tragedy that took it.
She was a wife, a mother of four daughters, an educator and, according to the people closest to her, someone whose compassion was felt everywhere she went.
Husband Remembers Katelyn LeBlanc's Faith And Love For Family
In an emotional message shared following his wife's death, Katelyn's husband, Dusty LeBlanc, described making the announcement as the hardest post he had ever written.
He remembered his wife as a woman deeply devoted to her faith, their daughters and the people around her.
Dusty said Katelyn lived with "quiet kindness, unwavering faith, and selfless love," adding that the impact she left behind is difficult to fully put into words.
He also asked the community to continue praying for their family, especially their four daughters, as they begin navigating an unimaginable loss.
Leonville Elementary Remembers A Cherished Teacher
The loss is being felt especially hard at Leonville Elementary, where Katelyn wasn't simply a teacher. She was part of a school family that also includes all four of her daughters.
In a heartfelt tribute, Leonville Elementary described LeBlanc as a cherished member of its faculty whose kindness, compassion and dedication made a lasting impact on students and colleagues.
School officials said LeBlanc loved her students wholeheartedly and worked to make sure the children in her classroom didn't just learn, but also felt valued.
"Though Mrs. LeBlanc is no longer with us, her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to children will forever remain a part of our school," the school wrote.
The school is asking the community to keep LeBlanc's husband, daughters, family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers, along with the students, faculty and staff now grieving her loss.

St. Landry Parish School Community Mourns Katelyn LeBlanc
The St. Landry Parish School Board also joined the growing number of people and organizations remembering LeBlanc.
"Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of one of our St. Landry Parish educators, Katelyn Leblanc," the district shared, adding that she left a lasting impact on countless lives.
That impact can be seen in the tributes being shared across the community as former students, parents, friends and colleagues remember a woman whose influence extended far beyond the walls of her classroom.
For the Leonville Elementary community, the loss is especially personal. Students are mourning a teacher. Faculty members are mourning a colleague and friend. Four young girls are mourning their mother.
And an entire Acadiana community is surrounding the LeBlanc family with prayers and support.
Leonville Elementary said information regarding services and ways the community can support the family will be shared when it becomes available.
