Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. album is making huge waves in the music world, and is already being argued as album of the year by many, but it looks like he had a different game plan for it in the beginning. In a new interview with Big Boy on Real 92.3 in Los Angeles, the "DNA." rapper revealed the original title for DAMN. before he changed it.

During the conversation, K. Dot tells the hosts that the original title for the album was supposed to be What Happens On Earth Stays On Earth, which is a common ad-lib Kid Capri uses during his voiceovers throughout the project. Eventually, Lamar found the title to be too long, and explained why he changed the title to DAMN. before finishing it.

“It didn’t read right," Kendrick told the hosts. "There was so many different ways you could put it in my head. Damned if I do, damned if I don’t. The loudness of the record. When I think about ‘DNA.,’ when I think of ‘HUMBLE.,’ when I think these records, it just felt like that.”

Along with the alternate title reveal, Kendrick is also asked to rank all four of his studio albums, where he gives DAMN. top spot. He then follows the next spots with Good Kid, m.A.A.d. CityTo Pimp A Butterfly and finally Section.80, and gives a thorough explanation for each placement.

The interview also touches on what Kendrick did that made his mom the most proud, what he thinks his wackest song ever is and much more.
