In an electrifying performance that captivated both Florida State and Louisiana fans, former Opelousas Catholic High School wide receiver Keon Coleman lit up the field in Florida State's 45-24 come-from-behind victory against LSU on Sunday night.

With a dynamic trio of touchdown catches, Coleman was a key factor in the Seminoles' 38-10 scoring run that stunned LSU after they initially took the lead. The standout receiver was all smiles in the post-game press conference, giving a heartfelt shoutout to his hometown of Opelousas and "the whole 337," a reference to the area code that includes his home region.

"I love y'all," Coleman exclaimed in a video captured by KATC's Megan Glover.

While the game may have been heartbreaking for LSU fans, particularly those who share Coleman's Louisiana roots, the love for the wide receiver from his hometown was undeniable. Social media was ablaze with cheers and salutes to Coleman's stellar play, even though his Seminoles dismantled LSU's hopes of opening the season with a win.

As much as it may have "added a little salt to the wound" for his family, friends, and other big LSU fans, Coleman said he "was just blessed to be on that field" during the press conference and that he was focused on racking up wins for his team.

Coleman also revealed that despite the popularity of LSU in his home state, he doesn't consider himself a fan like many of his loved ones. When pressed about this, he kept it straightforward: "I'm a Seminole now."

The Seminoles' offense found its rhythm midway through the second quarter, stringing together six consecutive scoring possessions. FSU quarterback Jordan Travis was on fire, finishing the night with a 23-31, 342-yard performance that included four touchdown passes, one of which he rushed in himself.

LSU's offense, led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, had a momentary shine, with Daniels throwing for 347 yards and a touchdown, and adding 64 yards on the ground. However, they were outgained 281 to 167 in the second half, unable to keep up with Florida State's high-powered offense.

This marks LSU's fourth consecutive season-opening loss, which includes recent defeats to Mississippi State and UCLA, and heaps further pressure on the Tigers as they prepare to host Grambling this Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

The eyes of Louisiana were undoubtedly fixed on Coleman throughout the night, and he did not disappoint.
