The Met Gala is considered fashion's biggest night. Models, celebrities, and their fashion designer friends walk the carpet up the stairs to The Metropolitan Museum of Art each year to raise funds for the museum's costume institute. Each year, the Met Gala has a theme, and this year's theme was "Gilded Glamour" -- and one celebrity stuck to the theme at all costs...even the unhealthy ones.

Kim Kardashian decided to wear the infamous Marilyn Monroe dress that the Hollywood icon wore to sing happy birthday to JFK in 1962. She looks stunning, but the lengths she took to wear this dress are being criticized as unhealthy and extremely dangerous.

Kim was on the carpet doing press interviews with Vogue, speaking about her iconic dress. She explained what it took for her to get into the dress, and it had my jaw on the floor. She explained she dropped 16 pounds in 3 weeks to fit into the dress like it was no big deal.

The internet did NOT agree for obvious reasons...to everyone besides Kim.

To me, Kim doing this to fit into a dress for one night is expected. The Kardashians, in general, do anything for the headlines and the head turns. Her Met Gala looks throughout the years garnered all kinds of attention for how her body looks. Her everyday looks are the same but for events like this...she goes head first into whatever she wants to be dressed in, regardless of how it looks to the outside world.

Overall, her losing 16 pounds in 3 weeks is not healthy and does not send a good message to those that admire her and want to be like her. It's extremely dangerous to the body and the psyche. Kim didn't go into detail about how she lost that weight...but I can only assume it was by any means possible.

The article below explains what happened when trying on the dress before the event. She couldn't get the zipper up over her rear, and she absolutely could not alter it because it was an artifact. She wore a white fur coat that landed just over the zipper, so no one would know.

She only wore the dress on the Met Gala red carpet, and then immediately changed into a replica dress that was made to fit her shape. So all in all, she dropped the weight for a 10-minute red carpet walk...and the dress still did not fit.
