
Lafayette Police Searching For Suspect In Bank Fraud Case
Authorities in Lafayette are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a bank fraud investigation that has now stretched across multiple cities.
According to Lafayette Crime Stoppers and the Lafayette Police Department, the individual pictured is accused of carrying out a fraudulent transaction at a Chase Bank location on West Congress Street.
Incident Resulted In Financial Loss
Investigators say the incident took place on March 9, 2026, at the Chase Bank located at 3930 West Congress Street. The fraudulent transaction resulted in a loss of approximately $1,000 for the victim.
Police say the case did not stop in Lafayette. The same suspect is believed to have carried out additional fraudulent transactions in New Iberia, leading to further financial losses for the same victim.
Authorities Urge Public To Come Forward
Officials are now turning to the community for help in identifying the individual. Crime Stoppers emphasizes that tips can be submitted anonymously and may qualify for a cash reward if they lead to an arrest.
