Lafayette Considering Regulating Scooters
It seems like every Lafayette corner is occupied by a flock of Bird and Lime Scooters, and now a new law regulating the new rides may be on the way.
According to the Daily Advertiser, during Tuesday's city-parish council meeting, Mayor-President Joel Robideaux said he and city attorneys discussed possible regulations with state officials. Lafayette officials are considering whether to put local laws into place or wait until a state law is introduced during the upcoming state legislature session in March.
Joel Robideaux told the Daily Advertiser that it will probably be late February before a local ordinance can be adopted.
