Lafayette FAFSA Night Set For Tonight At Northside High
If you have a graduating high school senior in your Lafayette Parish household then there is one more detail that needs to be completed before they can claim their diploma in a few weeks. Naturally, that one more thing involves government paperwork. But, at least this paperwork could help pay for college.
Tonight is Lafayette FAFSA night. If you have no idea what a FAFSA is, let me explain. FAFSA is the Free Application For Student Aid. As the name emplies, it is free to fill out. That FAFSA form or a signed Parental Nonparticipation Form is required for a student to graduate from a Lafayette Parish high school.
If you need help filling out your FAFSA form or have questions you can attend tonight's free meeting at Northside High School. The meeting begins at 5:30 and should wrap up by 7:30. Counselors from Lafayette Parish Schools as well as the Louisiana Department of Education will be on hand to offer advice and answers during tonight's presentation.
The counselors will also go over the information that is needed to complete the FAFSA form. The information that is shared in the FAFSA process will help determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.
