The city of Lafayette will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today with it's annual parade starting at 3:00 PM.

This year will mark the 30th year that Lafayette celebrates the life of Dr. King. The annual parade will start the Clifton Chenier Center on Willow Street and process down MLK Boulevard to the MLK Center.

The annual celebration around the country is to commemorate the birth of the Dr. King, who was a non-violent activist during the civil rights movement.
