Several media outlets are reporting that a large vessel has capsized south of Grand Isle, LA and a search and rescue effort is now underway.

The U.S. Coast Guard and some private boats are currently assisting in the search for those who may have been thrown overboard.

WWL-TV reports that more assets are en route to the gulf from Texas this evening. We are going to continue following this developing story.

Earlier reports today suggested that the conditions near Grand Isle resembled those of hurricane as storms pushed through the area.
