No, Beyoncé will not be on any remix of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road." The rapper has apologized after trolling his timeline on Tuesday night (April 9), hinting that Bey might hop on the No. 1 song in the country.

"i was trolling sorry," he wrote with a retweet of an article that speculated Bey would be on a remix of the song.

In the original tweet, which was written straightforwardly enough to get at least some people to bite, Lil Nas X wrote, "ready to tell them @beyonce !?,

The rapper's elite troll came just one day after he hinted XXL that another remix of his breakout hit, one that was previously remixed with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, was on the way.

"It was my idea but you know it won't be the only remix," Lil Nas X told XXL in an interview published Monday (April 8). "[Plus], new music coming to from me."

While a lot of people would've batted an eye at Lil Nas X's bold troll, the idea of the Queen Bey appearing on a song with him is much less far-fetched than it would've been several months ago. At this very moment, he's sitting on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

While we may not get a Beyoncé remix of "Old Town Road" any time soon, Young Thug teased a remix on Instagram Live on Monday night (April 8), so there's still more to look forward to with this infectious, viral record.
