Lil Uzi Vert is ready to call it quits with music. Seemingly disgruntled with the way his career has been handled for some time now, the "XO Tour Liif3" rapper made the surprise announcement on Instagram on Friday (Jan. 11).

“I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters but I’m done with music,” Uzi wrote with a picture of his Gucci socks on his Instagram Story. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal … I wanna wake up in 2013.”

He ended the post with, “Thank you love you. You are free.”

Just a few weeks back, Uzi appeared on Shabazz PBG's new song "Shells," and hinted that he's trying to get out of his deal with Atlantic Records.

"Tryna figure out how I'm gonna get out my deal/I'm a bad boy, a reverend, I feel like I'm Mase," Uzi raps. "Your bitch with me but she got to leave by eight."

This wasn't the first time Uzi voiced his frustrations with his situation, either.

In April 2017, Uzi was vocal about tension behind-the-scenes, and blamed an unnamed person (that many believed to be DJ Drama) for the delay of his debut album, Luv Is Rage 2.

"Can I honestly tell y'all why this album ain't drop," Uzi wrote on Twitter at the time. "It's because of a Old Person who doesn't Understand what's going on right now......Can You Guess Who?"

It seems like all of the drama has caught up with the Philadelphia native, and he's just ready to step away from it all.
