With summer in full swing, festival season is finally upon us. And with that includes the majors like Coachella and Governors Ball, but also the artist curated ones like OVO Fest. One day after the announcement of the eighth annual OVO Fest, Lil Wayne announced the lineup for the third annual Lil Weezyana Fest featuring Gucci Mane, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Rich the Kid and Kodie Shane.

There's no reason for artists not to create their own festivals while other corporations continue to book them for their own. And for a rap giant like Lil Wayne who has worked with nearly everyone in the industry, putting together a successful show like Lil Weezyana is sure to turn heads each year. This year on Aug. 25, he's joined by Gucci who has been on a tear since his release from prison May of 2016. NBA YoungBoy has also had an impressive year with Mind of a Menace 3 Reloaded, despite having legal problems of his own. Rich the Kid recently signed to Interscope Records while Kodie Shane has been holding it down as a part of Lil Yachty's Sailing Team. The lineup is certainly a mix of different sounds that should appeal to a diverse crowd.

In the past, Lil Weezyana has been an opportunity for Lil Wayne to do some good as well as throw some dirt on others. Wayne may also announce more artists down the road as the festival approaches. We'll see if he debuts any new music from his highly anticipated Tha Carter V.
