Less than two weeks after announcing his plans to withdraw from rap, news comes that Lil Wayne and DJ Drama are prepping the latest installment in their Dedication series, Wayne telling Hypetrak that Dedication 6 is currently under construction.

Weezy has been deadlocked with Birdman and Cash Money, his former mentor and label keeping him from releasing Tha Carter V and withholding what Wayne feels are his rightful royalties. On Sept. 3 Wayne wrote, "I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful," and has since released "Grateful," a Tidal-exclusive track that sees the rapper spitting such lines as "And you don’t see Stunna right next to me, and I won’t see Stunna write checks for me / They can't put no more Weezy Baby out, that's that Cash Money vasectomy."

Speaking at Bud Light's Party Convention back in August, Wayne said that Dedication 6 is coming soon. "I’m currently working on it as we speak," he said. "I’m going to find some time to get with DJ Drama when it’s right and then give it to the world!" Dram quickly echoed that sentiment, writing on Instagram, "gangsta grillz, no braces - tune."

DJ Drama just dropped his album Quality Street Music 2 in July and sure enough, the opening track is Wayne at his mixtape best. What else the two have in store remains to be seen, but this September marks three years since the last Dedication mixtape dropped, with Wayne advancing his Sorry 4 The Wait and No Ceiling sagas instead.
