Lil Yachty, Young M.A and More Among Forbes’ 2017 Hip-Hop Cash Princes

Forbes has unveiled their annual list of Hip-Hop Cash Princes for 2017 and the numbers don't lie. This year's Cash Princes list, which was shared today (Mar. 1), includes Lil Yachty, D.R.A.M., Desiigner, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, NoName, Isaiah Rashad, Stormzy, Bryson Tiller and Young M.A.

The emphasis on this year's list was definitely Internet rappers making real life checks. Brooklyn rapper and 2016 XXL Freshman Desiigner signed a record deal based off the viral success of his first song "Panda", the track that earned him a 2017 Grammy nomination. Lil Uzi Vert, another 2016 Freshman, was the most-followed rapper on SoundCloud in 2016 and his digital drops have translated to real life co-signs and collabs. At 19 years old, Lil Yachty has made a ton of big business moves this year, proving he's got a marketable personality for brands like Sprite, Target and Nautica.

This year's recipients also include rising stars hailing from all over the world. The U.K.'s Stormzy just dropped his debut album Gang Signs and Prayer and is successfully breaking into the American rap market in a big way.

"Stormzy gets and understands the bigger picture and isn't afraid to broaden his horizons," Little Simz, a former Cash Princes member, told Forbes. "He is an inspiration to many and there no limitations on how far he will take it, because he's doing this on his own terms."

In order to make it onto the Forbes Cash Princes list, the artist must be primarily classified as a rap/R&B act, must be under 30 years old and must not have appeared on the list in years prior. Congrats to this year's class.
