Longtime Pizza Village employee Kirk Trahan passed away last night after a battle with liver cancer. He was the general manager of the restaurant and worked there for more than 35 years.

The restaurant posted the following on its Facebook page last night.

Trahan had been battling cancer for the past eight months and was recently receiving hospice care.

Just last week, Pizza Village employees showed their support for Trahan with a drive-by parade in front of his home.

Trahan's funeral arrangements are pending, but due to coronavirus restrictions, it likely will be limited to immediate family.

Pizza Village says it expects to have a benefit for Trahan, which will likely serve as a celebration of his life and legacy, when restrictions are lifted.

A GoFuneMe account was set up in March for Trahan, and you can still donate.
