Louisiana Gone Wild: New Iberia Dancers Twerk in Snow With No Pants On
These rare snow days in South Louisiana bring out all kinds of antics, but a group in New Iberia might have taken the cake—or at least their pants off. A now-viral video, originally posted by Shantelle N. Kinard on Facebook, shows a group of brave (or wild) souls twerking in their underwear as blizzard-like snow poured down around them. The unmistakable cry of “ONLY IN THE BERRY!” in the background makes it clear this frosty freestyle took place in New Iberia.
Local internet personality Uncle Luck, aka Shawn Bernard, couldn’t resist sharing the clip with his audience. Known for his adult humor and quick wit, Uncle Luck joked that the group’s quest for internet fame might earn them more than likes—it might land them in urgent care. “They’re gonna catch the flu, RSV, or something else just for a few views,” he joked.
This video isn’t the only example of South Louisianians making the most of this rare winter storm. **KLFY reporters John Weatherall and Gerald Gruenig** also went viral after a live shot got a little too real. A drifting Subaru came within inches of their broadcast as they reported on the snow-covered streets. Talk about breaking news!
With snow accumulations ranging from four to nine inches—and still falling—this historic storm has turned Louisiana into a Bayou version of Frozen. It’s the first snowstorm of this magnitude since 1895, and residents are living it up in ways only locals can. Whether it’s no-pants dance-offs or narrowly dodging sliding cars, one thing is clear: South Louisianians don’t know how to act when it snows.
But hey, can you blame them? When life gives you snow in the Bayou State, you make memories—pants or no pants!
UPDATE:
We got the front view and confirmation that this was indeed in New Iberia, LA.
