Now that he holidays are officially here, it's time to get out and about and get some Christmas spirit, sha! Only in Louisiana has reminded me of some places around the great state of Louisiana that have have an abundance of Christmas spirit, so I thought I would share. Whether it's because they have a blow out Christmas festival, or maybe a unique parade, or just that they really go wild on community decorations , these are fun places to visit at this time of year. Let me know if you have any other spots that we need to check out, because we really want to get on the 'Nice' list!

  • Lafayette - Noel Acadien au Village is celebrated at historic Acadien Village. December 1 - 23
  • Shreveport - 'Christmas at Roseland' is held at the American Rose Center - November 24 - December 23
  • New Orleans - 'Celebration in the Oaks' is an amazing display of lights at City Park. November 24 - January 1. Closed November 27, 28, 29, 30, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
    Alexandria / Pineville - the fabulous Christmas parade on December 8 is a highlight of the season
  • Opelousas - Le Vieux Village historic Christmas lighting, invites the whole community out for gumbo and holiday cheer. The lighting event is December 1 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Natchitoches - the historic 'Christmas Festival of Lights' is the first weekend of every December
  • Lutcher - The Festival of the Bonfires is one of Louisiana's most unique holiday celebrations, and is held this year on December 7 - 10
  • Minden - part of the North Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights, with Christmas events every weekend in December
  • Monroe / West Monroe - 'Christmas on the River' is an annual event with spectacular parades, fireworks, and holiday lights - December 1 - December 31
