This morning members of the Lafayette Airport Commission announced that low-cost airfare provider Frontier Airlines will be adding two flights out of Lafayette.

In a press conference Tuesday morning, officials with Lafayette Regional Airport announced that Frontier Airlines will be providing new air service to and from Lafayette. The cities it will serve are Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston and Orlando with flights starting as low as $39 according to the airline.

The news comes as the airport moves forward with construction plans for a new terminal. The project, which was funded through a temporary tax, is on track to be completed in the next couple years. Demolition of some old buildings on the field is what the airport is focused on at this time.
