LSU Tiger fans are excited about the baseball season. How do we know that the always enthusiastic Tiger fan base is ready to play ball? More than 35,000 fans walked through the turnstiles at Alex Box Stadium to see the team play a three-game series this weekend.

Opening day at "The Box" was the fourth highest paid attendance in school history when the Tigers entertained U.L. Monroe. The other two weekend games in which LSU faced Army and Air Force also drew really well to bring the total attendance for the weekend to 35,463.

By the way, the Tigers did not disappoint the home crowd winning all three games. The Tigers downed the Warhawks of ULM Friday night by a score of 12-7. They had a little more trouble with Army on Saturday but claimed the victory by a score of 6 to 5. LSU rounded out the weekend with a solid performance against the Air Force Academy winning that game 17-5.

Up next for LSU is a Tuesday game with Southeastern in Baton Rouge. Wednesday the Tigers will be on the road at Northwestern State in Natchitoches. The team will then be back at Alex Box Stadium for a weekend series with Bryant University of Rhode Island beginning Friday.
