Major television networks are scrambling to secure the rights to any game he plays in. LSU fans are buying his jerseys almost as fast as they can be produced.  Sports talk radio is a buzz with his potential and plans for his future.

He is Leonard Fournette and you will be seeing his bright smiling face looking back at you  from the cover of next week's Sports Illustrated Magazine.

Fournette isn't the first LSU start to be featured on the cover. According to Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette,

Shaq and Chris Jackson have been on it. Kevin Faulk after we beat Florida that year in '97 when they were ranked No. 1. Pete Maravich did it once and Tommy Casanova. There have been a few, but not very many.

Bonnette's comments were reported in a story published by the Louisiana Radio Network.

While the Sophomore running back has certainly gained a lot of notoriety this football season. Those around him say he is just a regular guy.

He's hard not to like and he's one of those guys that you want to give attention to.

You can bet the University of Florida Gators football team has been giving Fournette a lot of attention in their practices this week. The Gators will travel to Baton Rouge this Saturday Night to take on LSU in Tiger Stadium. The game will be made tougher for Florida after it was announced yesterday that the Gators starting quarterback would be suspended for a year for using performance enhancing drugs.

The LSU vs Florida game will be televised nationally on the ESPN television network beginning at 6pm.
