Sometimes stories hit close to home and this is one has certainly hit home for me. Several students at Mamou High School have been saving their money for an upcoming Senior trip, but their money was recently stolen during a break-in.

Rachel Israel, one of the parents supervising the students, says that she was holding onto much of the money these kids raised for their upcoming trip, but on September 1st her home was burglarized and the money the kids were saving was stolen. Mamou Police confirm that a report has been filed and that there is an investigation into the burglary.

She says she feels terrible that she did not secure the money better, and that she was actually planning on putting the funds on credit card for the upcoming trip. According to reports, $3500 was stolen from the home and now these kids are left without.

I personally want to help these kids get their money back. They've held several fundraisers to raise money for their trip, and I do not think that these kids should be penalized for another person(s) actions. Lets all help these kids enjoy their Senior trip by replacing the funds that were stolen.

Rachel has set-up a GoFundMe account in hopes of replacing the funds that were stolen from the kids, and I know that we can do our part to help these kids out. Please take time during this holiday season to help these kids out. Lets all do our part to send them on the trip they have been waiting to experience for a very long time. Thanks.
