Lafayette Police are looking for help to identify a suspect who allegedly exposed himself in a local restaurant.

UPDATE:

Lafayette Police arrested 30-year-old Matthew Wedlock of Opelousas after he returned to the same restaurant a day after he allegedly exposed himself inside of the Ambassador Caffery establishment.

On August 24, 2022, at 1:35 pm the suspect, Matthew Wedlock 30, of Opelousas, LA returned to the same establishment located in the 3500 block of Ambassador Caffery. Upon Mr. Wedlock’s return, Lafayette Police Officers were notified and Mr. Wedlock was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Wedlock was transported and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of Obscenity.

ORIGINAL STORY:

According to LPD, the suspect (pictured below) entered a restaurant located within the 3500 block of Ambassador Caffery and exposed himself to people who were inside the establishment on August 23, 2022.

No other details were given, but the 3500 block of Ambassador is at its intersection with Johnston Street where numerous restaurants are located and police say the man "exposed himself within view of the victim."
