The owner of Marcy's Diner in Portland, ME is getting mixed reactions after yelling at a 2-year-old child who was allegedly screaming, unchecked by her parents, for nearly an hour.

Not only is she having to defend her actions, but Darla Neugebauer is having to stand by comments she made on her diner's Facebook page that have left some outraged.

Neugebauer says the child and her parents ordered three pancakes, but never fed them to the little girl, causing her to cry. After attempts to get the parents to leave, Darla says she slammed her hands down on the counter and told the girl to be quiet, this according to WSCH6.

The parents were shocked with the owner's actions and aired their concerns on the Marcy's Diner Facebook page.

Neugebauer responded to her post telling Carson that she was lucky she "didn't get really [expletive] nuts because being physical is not something I cower from."

Even though she received backlash over her actions and her social media comments that followed, Neugebauer isn't backing down. She believes that she put herself in the situation, so she is living with the choices she made.

I chose to yell at a kid, it made her shut-up, which made me happy, it made my staff happy, it made the 75 other people dining here happy, and they left, they may never come back, other people may not come in. Their loss really.

Neugebauer even posted an update to the diner's Facebook page giving her own description of the incident.

While many have chastised the restaurant owner for her actions, others have shown their support—vowing to eat at the restaurant when they visit town.
