Today in Tha Wire Percy Miller returns home for a huge celeb weekend July Fourth weekend, aimed at raising money for those in need by mixing business with pleasure. Master P has big plans for this year's 25th Anniversary of the Essence Festival taking over the city of New Orleans July 4th through 8th. Traditionally Essence was a three day event with free open to the public seminars, celeb interviews, concerts and an enormous market open by day and back-to-back concerts starring the greatest and latest stars/artists music has to offer.

Since it began the festival has expanded by leaps and bounds. So...depending on who you talk to, Essence could be an eight day event or longer. This year is special as it marks the festivals 25th anniversary, so P is looking to do it big. Nola.com reports the 49-year old No Limit music mogul will lead a day of service starting at the Guste Homes Senior Residence on Friday July 5th, ending the day with the premiere of the second installment to his movie "I Got The Hook Up 2" at AMC Elmwood Palace 20 Theater in Harahan.

The New Orleans icon inked a deal with former BET Founder Bob Johnson's company, RLJ Films, and UMC to bring the movie to theaters nationwide this July as well. P said of the film, "This project is not only hilariously funny, but it expresses the vitality of gentrification, entrepreneurship, and coming together as a family during hard times," He also said,. "With all the tragedies in the world, we could all use a good laugh. This is one of the many projects on the way from Genius Minds Films."

The big game reportedly takes place at Xavier University Convocation Center, everyone from Young Dolph, Lil Boosie, Van Lathan, Isaiah Thomas, Ladanian Thomlison, Fat Boy See, Pio, Markieff and Marcus Morris, T Kravitz, Rick Ross, Ray J, Trey Turner (of the Carolina Panthers), Estelle, Rocsi Diaz, Mike Thomas, DC Young Fly, Jeezy, Romeo and Silkk the Shocker. will be participating.
