Meek Mill Learned He Was Getting Out of Jail From Watching TV
Earlier today (Nov. 28), Meek Mill paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to speak to the eponymous show host about his battle for criminal justice reform. During the course of the interview, he reveals that he learned about his jail release date the same way a lot of other people did—by watching TV.
“I was watching the news and [seeing] ‘Meek Mill is up for bail,'” said Meek, who was eating rice and mackerel fish when he decided to turn on the tv. “I dropped my food and jumped up in the air and I was leaving 10 minutes later.”
Since being released from jail back in April, Meek, who was locked up for a probation violation stemming from legal dealings he faced nearly a decade prior, has spoken on the importance of criminal justice reform. "A lot of these things don't make sense and everybody knows they don't make sense but nobody focuses on changing the system," Meek told DeGeneres earlier today.
In other Meek-related news, his Championships album drops Friday (Nov. 30) and features appearances from Cardi B, Kodak Black and a sample from Beyoncé. The Motivation Tour, which kicks off Feb. 19 in Miami, is in support of his latest offering.
