Megan Thee Stallion recently added another notch to her belt by winning a 2019 MTV Video Music Award for her Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign collab "Hot Girl Summer." While some are questioning how she won a video award for a song without an actual visual, the 2019 XXL Freshman is setting the record straight.

The annual award show went down on Monday (Aug. 26), with Lil Nas X taking home the big award for Song of the Year. Megan, who also performed at the show, grabbed the award for Best Power Anthem, beating out Milye Cyrus' "Mother's Daughter," Lizzo's "Tempo," Halsey's "Nightmare" and DJ Khaled's "Wish Wish" featuring Cardi B and 21 Savage.

Some scratched their head over the win, as the "Hot Girl Summer" track was only released earlier this month and lacks a visual.

"How did Megan Thee Stallion win an MTV Video Music Award last night for 'Hot Girl Summer' and there's no video for 'Hot Girl Summer' yet?" Charlamagne Tha God questioned on The Breakfast Club the following day.

Megan has gotten wind of the folks questioning her win and responded on Twitter on Tuesday (Aug. 27).

"Also for you silly mfs questioning how we won a VMA ... the award was for a song ... 'POWER ANTHEM' the PEOPLE VOTED 💁🏽‍♀️ hotties have pull," she typed.

Nicki Minaj also reacted on Twitter.

"AND WHAT ABOUT IT?" she posted. "THANK YOU GUYS for voting for #HotGirlSummer. We fkng love you."

Other hip-hop artists bringing home awards included Cardi B who won Best Hip Hop for "Money" and Missy Elliott who won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
