Michael Phelps Resorts To Cupping Therapy, Leaves Bruises On Body
Like many of you last night, I too was asking what are those red dots on the body on U.S. Olympian Michael Phelps.
The dots, or bruises, on his body are marks left behind from a trending form of therapy called "cupping." This form of therapy reportedly relieves muscle tension and now several athletes are using it in their recovery process.
The red circles indicate where the suction cup were placed on one's body. The suction loosens muscles and tendons.
And while it looks like it hurts, many who have resorted to "cupping" say it looks worse than it feels.
