Liam Hemsworth reportedly filed for divorce from his separated wife, Miley Cyrus.

TMZ reported Wednesday (August 21) that Hemsworth filed for divorce in Los Angeles.

The actor cited "irreconcilable differences" on the document. The report cites that the date of separation lists it as TBD, or to be determined.

TMZ's sources say that Cyrus and Hemsworth had a prenup, which would have them each keep their earnings made during the time they were married. Though there are no children involved, there are beloved pets to consider and it's unclear who will retain custody.

On August 10, Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their separation after less than a year of marriage. There were rumors of a breakup prior to the announcement, when Hemsworth was spotted grocery shopping without his wedding ring.

Cyrus herself was photographed the day before the announcement, kissing Kaitlynn Carter, while the pair vacationed in Italy. Carter recently separated from her husband of less than a year, Brody Jenner.

Cyrus released her song "Slide Away" just days after the announcement of their split. The song seemingly references her relationship with Hemsworth and hints at a romantic partner's drug and alcohol usage.

The pair were wed on December 23, 2018 during an intimate at-home ceremony.
