NASA’s Satellites Show Louisiana Ice Storm From Different View [Pics]

NASA's MODIS satellites show you a view from above as the ice storm that hit Louisiana comes in, covers us, and what it left behind.

We're not used to having weather like this in Louisiana. Especially when it happens multiple times in the same winter season. That being said, you've seen pictures that others have taken from around Louisiana. Most of those were probably taken from the ground.

The pictures from NASA's MODIS satellite via the Space Science and Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, give you a different perspective on what actually hit Louisiana and what it left behind.

Here's January 15th, the day before the ice storm hit. You were probably wearing shorts this day.

Here's January 16th when the storm hit and covered Louisiana in clouds.

And here is the aftermath of the storm, January 17th. You'll notice all of the ice it left in its wake.
