NBA Moves All-Star Weekend to New Orleans in 2017

The National Basketball Association will, as expected, hold its 2017 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.

Charlotte was scheduled to be the host, but the NBA pulled out after North Carolina passed a state law that limits anti-discrimination protection for the LGBTQ community.

It will be the third time since 2008 that New Orleans has hosted the event.

The All-Star game will be played February 19th, which is the first weekend of Mardi Gras Parades in New Orleans.  Mardi Gras is February 28th.
