Astronaut Neil Armstrong, The First Man To Walk On The Moon, Dead At 82
His famous line, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" is one of the most famous quotes of all time, and today we are sad to hear the news that Neil Armstrong is dead at the age of 82.
In addition to being the first man to walk on the moon, Astronaut Neil Armstrong commanded the Apollo 11, landing on the moon on July 20, 1969. It was during a three-hour stroll on the moon's surface when he radioed back those famous words, and it was indeed one giant leap that Armstrong will always be remembered for.
After his 82nd birthday earlier this month, Armstrong underwent heart surgery. He has stayed out of the public in recent years, and up until his death today, has lived in the Cincinnati suburb of Indian Hill with his current wife Carol.
RIP Neil Armstrong.
