There is a new app out for the I-Phone that allows you to check yourself for skin cancer. The 'Handyscope' plugs into the Apple smartphone and using an app converts it into a dermatascope - which doctors use when looking for melanoma. The device uses a polarizing light to detect if a mole is cancerous. Once the image is taken, it can be sent to cancer experts all around the world for further examination. Surprisingly, it seems like most in the medical field have endorsed this new gadget as it is another way to stay ahead of cancer and ahead of possible consequences.

Handyscope is made by German-based firm FotoFinder. The Handyscope can be found online at the Apple I-Tunes app store.
