UPDATE: New Iberia Man Arrested After Hostage Situation

UPDATE: A man wanted on several charges after an alleged hostage situation Friday night in New Iberia has now been arrested.

On Friday night, New Iberia Police were called out to a home on Robertson Street after threats were made against the people in the home.

New Iberia Police Department Spokeswoman Daesha Hughes, says via press release, they are looking for Cody Schaubert in connection with the incident.

Schaubert is wanted on the following charges:

• Domestic Abuse Battery including Strangulation
• Aggravated Assault
• Aggravated Battery
• Child Endangerment

Hughes says before police got to the home, Schaubert was threatening the people in the home. All of them were finally able to make it out of the home.
