Like real estate when it comes to Mardi Gras Parades it's all about location location location. A New Orleans man found that out after posting, in jest, a notice that he would hold a 10x10 spot along the parade route on St. Charles Avenue for Mardi Gras Day for the low price of $2,000.

He was blown away with the response.

Sampey's post on Facebook received 75 comments and many of the commenters were quite serious about discussing the offer. Some Facebook commenters were wanting to negotiate the price, while others were asking to see more pictures of the location.

As you might imagine the cynical side of Facebook was also represented in the comments too. Some people suggested that Sampey can't sell what he doesn't own and of course, others were simply bemused that some people would even consider paying the outrageous fee.

Sampey also says he's had offers from people willing to come work for him to hold other spots along the parade route. How this will all play out remains to be seen. But this is Louisiana and there is a certain respect that comes with a claimed spot on a parade route whether it's New Orleans, Scott, Youngsville, or Lafayette.

My only question is this, Is there a place to pee? 'Cuz we all know there aint no place to pee on Mardi Gras Day.
