New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton Files For Divorce From Wife Beth

The Times-Picayune is reporting that New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton has filed for divorce from his wife Beth. The New Orleans paper says that  Coach Payton filed for the divorce in Tarrant County, Texas on June 14.

The petition lists the grounds for divorce as "discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

According to the filings, Coach Payton has moved out of his home in Westlake, Texas, home in the Dallas suburbs, where he lived with Beth Payton and their two children, Meghan and Conner. Initially it appeared that Sean Payton and Beth Payton hoped to divide the estate and visitation rights out of court, but on June 26 Beth Payton requested that she be appointed the custodian "who has the exclusive right to designate the primary residence of the children in Tarrant County, Texas." The petition further asks that the court schedule Sean Payton's access to their children "as necessary to protect the health and well-being of the children."

Beth Payton has also requested that she have complete control of all decisions made in regards to their children's medical, legal and educational interests. Her filings request that Sean Payton pay support for the children's care and medical expenses.

The couple's 20th anniversary would have been July 20th.
