About seven years ago, Nicki Minaj truly cemented her status as a premier spitter when she dropped a show-stopping guest verse on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy cut "Monster." To commemorate the track's official release on Oct. 23, 2010, Nicki uploaded a revealing story about the track onto her Instagram account. Apparently, Yeezy was seriously considering leaving it off the critically acclaimed album.

"7 year anniversary of #Monster Kanye called me to tell me Jay put a verse on this song & that he was still deciding if he would put it on his album," Nicki began in the caption for her post. "Haha. It was like an hour long call where I tried to convince him to let the song stay on his album. He felt this verse would end up being the talk of the album. I said: YOU’RE KANYE WEST!!!! 💞."

Nicki goes on to say that Hov, who also had a dope verse on "Monster," told her he was impressed with the verse when she performed at Yankee Stadium for he and Eminem's joint tour.. "I became the first female rapper to perform @ Yankee Stadium on the JAY/Eminem stadium tour," she wrote. "When I saw him, Jay said: “when u got so nice”? I said: “I been nice!"

In another interesting bit, Nicki revealed that Kanye actually wanted her to add more of her growling in her verse, and that his girlfriend at the time, Amber Rose, was the one who pushed Kanye to get into the studio with her. "Amber had spoken highly of me to Ye n pushed for him to meet with me. The rest is history. Ye, Jay, Em...All 3 of them helped me in some way. Love."
