NOLA Mardi Gras Parade Changes Route, Leaves Superdome

New Orleans hosts the country's biggest Mardi Gras celebration and one of its "super krewes" is making a big change. The Krewe of Endymion announced a new route that will bring the parade to the Morial Convention Center instead of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Rumors had been swirling for months about the move, but now we know why it's happening. Yesterday, Governor John Bel Edwards announced a major renovation project at the Superdome that will extend into the Saints offseason. Those renovations will effectively shut down the 'dome well into 2020.

Mardi Gras 2020 falls on Tuesday, February 25th. The Krewe of Endymion rolls the weekend before on Saturday, February 22nd.
