Northside Principal Returns To Work After Suspension Over Boosie Visit
Northside High School Principal James Rollins has officially returned to work.
Lafayette Parish School System officials confirmed Tuesday that Rollins is back on campus and has resumed his role as principal.
Suspension Linked To Boosie Visit
According to sources familiar with the situation, Rollins was suspended for 3 days after failing to obtain prior approval for a visit from Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz. The visit, which gained traction online via social media videos, also allegedly failed to follow proper district protocols once it took place.
The initial incident sparked widespread conversation after Rollins was placed on administrative leave, with many questioning whether the disciplinary action was connected to the rapper’s appearance.
Community Reaction Mixed
The decision to discipline Rollins drew mixed reactions throughout Acadiana. While some supported the school system’s enforcement of policy, others felt the punishment was excessive given the circumstances.
The situation gained even more attention when Boosie himself publicly weighed in, calling for the principal to be reinstated and suggesting that the visit was intended to have a positive impact on students.
LPSS Confirms Return
LPSS Communication Director Tracy Wirtz confirmed that Rollins is now back at work in his capacity as principal of Northside High School.

The district has not released additional details regarding the internal review but has maintained that personnel matters are handled in accordance with established policies.
Focus Shifts Back To Students
With Rollins back on campus, attention now shifts back to the day to day operations at Northside High and the students it serves.
