I know Louisiana crawfish are good but are they so good you're willing to risk going to jail for them? Perhaps they are, at least in the eyes of one Allen Parish man. Deputies in Allen Parish say they have arrested an Oberlin man in connection with the theft of at least 55 sacks of crawfish.

Deputies in Allen Parish investigating the crimes were able to piece together information about a suspect vehicle in connection with the thefts. When deputies observed a vehicle matching that description driving around local crawfish ponds the vehicle was pulled over and the driver questioned.

Alvin Cole of Oberlin has been charged with five counts of trespassing, and theft between $1,000 and $5,000. After he admitted to deputies that he had taken crawfish from area crawfish ponds.

Cole is currently being held in the Allen Parish Jail. His bond has not been set at this time.
