One More Acadiana Business Closing, But Another Opening Soon
It has been a topsy-turvy kind of world when it comes to local businesses opening and closing in the Acadiana area over the last several months.
Earlier this week we learned of the sudden closing of Bourée Restaurant in Youngsville. A couple of weeks ago it was TULA Tacos Tacos + Amigos in Lafayette that announced they were shutting things down.
Today's edition of "As The Businesses Turn" features one Youngsville bar closing its doors while a former Lafayette business getting a new name and tenant.
Let's start with the bad.
Maybe's Lounge, which had been open for close to a year now in Youngsville's Sugar Mill Pond, took to social media to announce that they were closing.
The short-and-sweet Facebook post reads: "Maybe's Lounge will be closing our doors. Thank you to everyone who stopped in and shared a pint."
Maybe's Lounge was located at 1901 Chemin Metairie Pkwy (Ste 7) in Youngsville.
It featured a full bar and a kitchen that served up what many thought were delightful shareable eats like tacos, wings, sliders, fries, and more.
The Facebook comments on the above post seemed to show overwhelming positive reviews of the lounge:
"Loved the food, drinks and atmosphere! I'll definitely be sad to see y'all go." -- Jessica T.
"So sad to see y'all close. Hands down my fave place to get drinks in Youngsville." -- Stefanie B.
"Oh no!!!! You will be very missed. One of my favorite places to go." -- Christina H.
On the flip side. Lafayette is getting a new restaurant.
According to Developing Lafayette, "a new neighborhood restaurant serving up new American cuisine," called Park Bistro, will be opening soon in the former Saints Street Inn building (407 Brook Avenue).
The new restaurant will feature dishes such as panko-crusted shrimp burgers with Nashville hot sauce, chive aioli, b&b pickles, red cabbage slaw, house-made chicken nuggets for both kids and adults, ricotta gnocchi, roasted cherry tomatoes, perlini mozzarella, black sesame and more.
Park Bistro is tentatively set to open this month with a soft opening date scheduled for December 8th.
You can follow updates at their website, ParkBistroLafayette.com and their Facebook page.
We can't wait to check it out!
