Ouachita Parish OHSEP Leader Adds to Duplicate COVID-19 Number Claims

Ouachita Parish Director of Homeland Security Neil Brown joins the growing list of parishes who are raising red flags about the way COVID-19 cases are being counted.

Earlier in the week, DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson and LaSalle Parish Sheriff/Head of Homeland Security Scott Franklin came forward with claims of inaccuracies due to over counting. Sheriff Franklin says the over counting sits at 40.6% in LaSalle Parish. He also mentioned two other parishes and the inaccuracies he claims they are dealing with due to over counting - Red River (40%) and Caldwell (47.73%).

On the Moon Griffon Show, Brown claimed a 15% over counting of COVID-19 cases. He believes that, in Ouachita Parish, there is a minimum of 600 cases being over counted. Currently, Louisiana Department of Health is attributing 4304 cases to his parish. Brown said that if LDH would show him 4304 names to match the case number then he would give them credit.

Sheriff Franklin also rejoined the Moon Griffon Show to discuss Governor John Bel Edwards press conference yesterday, during which the Governor and LDH's Medical Director Dr. Jimmy Guidry (pictured at the top of the story) contradicted what Franklin and other dissenting OHSEP parish leaders have said. Sheriff Franklin was very upset with Dr. Guidry's comments suggesting that local leaders are getting their information from local hospitals and local medical providers, but says he is getting his parish's information from LDH.
