Lafayette Parish School System announced that class will be in session as normal at Paul Breaux Middle School on Monday (May 9) after a threat was made on social media.

Two screengrabs from Facebook users Kitty Bob made their rounds on social media this weekend, causing some Paul Breaux Middle School parents to make the decision to keep their children at home from school on Monday to keep them safe.

According to a Monday morning release from LPSS, the "source" of the threat that circulated online was "located and arrested." LPSS also announced that school would be in session as normal today with added security on hand as a precautionary measure.

Last night the Lafayette Parish School System was made aware of a threat circulating on social media directed to the campus of Paul Breaux Middle School. With the assistance of law enforcement, the source of the threat has been located and arrested.
School is in session today. As a precautionary measure, additional police and administrative staff will be on campus.
