Point Blue Water System Service Interruption Planned for Today

Usually, when we have to do without water or electricity it's because of some unexpected event. This time, customers of the Point Blue Water System in Evangeline Parish will at least have a heads up that they will be without water for several hours this morning into the afternoon.

Officials with the Point Blue Water System says that service to customers who live on the north side of the well will have water service interrupted beginning about 9 am this morning. That interruption in service is expected to be several hours. The reason for the service interruption is so that work may be done on a main water line.

Once the work has been completed and water service restored there will be a boil advisory in effect for those who were affected by the shutdown. This is a common practice following an interruption in water service. Once the water supply has been verified to be safe by the State Department of Health those boil restrictions will be lifted.
