A Final Sendoff for “The Diamond”

As UFC 318 approaches, fans across Louisiana are preparing to rally behind Lafayette’s own Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier in what is expected to be the final fight of his legendary career. And if you’re heading to New Orleans for the action, there's only one place to be before the octagon lights up.

On Saturday, July 19, from 2-5 p.m., The Last Dance Tailgate will take place at the Benson Terrace (at Benson Tower) in New Orleans, just steps away from the Smoothie King Center where Poirier’s last bout will go down.

Presented by The Apothecary Shoppe and hosted in partnership with Prejean’s, Loft18, DJ Digital, and The Good Fight Foundation, this event is shaping up to be the ultimate pre-fight party, and Acadiana’s home away from home in the Crescent City.

What to Expect

Guests will enjoy food from Prejean’s, a full cash bar, and two complimentary drinks included with every ticket. Proceeds from the event benefit The Good Fight Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Poirier and his wife, Jolie, to support underserved communities.

HOT 107.9’s DJ Digital will provide the soundtrack and the tailgate setting on the fifth floor of Benson Tower, which offers panoramic views of the New Orleans skyline and nearby Superdome, making it the perfect backdrop for photos and memories.

This isn’t just a pregame; it’s a sendoff. From the same venue that hosted VIP events during Saints games and even the Taylor Swift concert weekend, this is where Louisiana fans can gather, toast to Poirier’s impact, and set the tone before the big fight.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
