Posthumous Aaliyah Album Will Involve Timbaland
After Drake released his Aaliyah duet ‘Enough Said‘ over the Internet, many are still wondering if Timbaland would be involved in the anticipated posthumous album. Well, the answer is yes, Timbo will be working on the project.
According to Miss Info, a source close to the secretive project said that Timbaland will produce two songs on the album with Drake’s go-to producer Noah “40″ Shebib helming the majority of the production. The single ‘Enough Said’ was released by Aaliyah’s own label Blackground Records, which is owned by her uncle Barry Hankerson.
This bit of news comes after Timbaland revealed to Power 105′s The Breakfast Club that he wasn’t involved in the Aaliyah project and that a Drake-Aaliyah collaboration without his and Missy Elliott‘s input is not a good thing. “The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record,” he said. “For it to be on his record, that would not be right.”
It’s unclear if Missy will be part of the album, but we are guessing that she will be jumping on a couple of tracks. Missy and Aaliyah go together musically like peanut butter and jelly, so it’s only right that it should happen.
Timbaland hasn’t comment on his involvement as of yet. It would be interesting to hear what he thinks about the Aaliyah project since his contribution is only two songs.
