President Donald Trump is getting involved personally in Louisiana's Gubernatorial race. The President announced yesterday via Twitter that he is planning on making a campaign stop in Lake Charles on Friday.

Trump's visit is scheduled on the eve of election day in the state. The President has made no secret that the intention of his visit is to bolster support for Republican candidates in their battle against incumbent Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards.

Several polling organizations have reported that Edwards' might have enough support to win re-election without a runoff against Republican contenders Ralph Abraham and Eddie Rispone. Organizers of the President's visit hope his stop in Lake Charles will help ensure a runoff between Edwards and one of the Republican candidates on the ballot.

The President's Lake Charles stop is scheduled for 7 pm in the James E Sudduth Coliseum on Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles. Tickets for the event may be requested through this website.
