President Trump Criticizes Snoop Dogg for Gun-Wielding “Lavender” Video
Just as we predicted, President Trump has a serious problem with Snoop Dogg's new video. In the visual for the song "Lavender," which is a remix of BADBADNOTGOOD’s track with Kaytranada, Snoop points a fake gun at the head of a President Trump parody.
Today, the Commander in Chief criticized the controversial vid through, you guessed it, his Twitter account. In the tweet, the newly minted president wrote, "Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!"
Predictably, President Trump wasn't the only politician to speak out against Snoop's new visual. Florida Senator Marco Rubio offered up his criticism of the video when approached by TMZ reporters just the other day. He believes historical context makes Snoop's video dangerous.
“Snoop shouldn’t have done that,” Rubio said. “We’ve had presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something people should really careful about.” A bit later, Rubio continued his thought, saying that if the “wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea, you could have a real problem. So, I’m not sure what Snoop was thinking. He should think about that a little more.”
Snoop's new video, which deals with police brutality and racism, has caused a lot of controversy, but we don't see him backing down from his stance on President Trump any time soon. No rappers that we know of have come out against Snoop's visual, and based on how many have criticized the President Trump at one point or another, we're not sure any will.
