Rayne police are looking for the man they say shot at two other men late Tuesday night.

According to a post on the Rayne Police Department's Facebook page, Markel Cormier is wanted on two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

That shooting happened just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Lyman Avenue and West Jeff Davis Avenue.

The initial call to 911 said one of the two victims had been wounded in that shooting. When police arrived, they found that neither man had been shot. However, police found that the pickup truck in which the two men were riding was hit by multiple bullets. Investigators say they found multiple small-caliber casings when they arrived on scene.

If you know where Markel Cormier is, call Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers at 337-789-TIPS or the Rayne Police Department at 337-334-4215.
